HANNE SINGS ON MOTORPSYCHO’s «Heavy metal fruit»

bent sæther is the guitarist in one of my favourite bands ever, motorpsycho. i don’t know from where i got the guts but i just sent him a message and asked if he wanted to play the bass on my next record, blood from a stone (this was last year). and he said yes and made beautiful bass sounds on ‘bandy riddles’ (the song on the record that is most influenced by motorpsycho). but he refused to get paid for it. he wanted a favour in return. this is how i was brought in to sing on their newest record «Heavy metal fruit». this album has got amazing words in the norwegian press. for those who can read norwegian, here’s some stunning reviews:

BLOOD FROM A STONE MUSIC VIDEO ON ‘TIFF’

i cooperated with some friends of mine to make the music video “blood from a stone”. they did a great job, and now the music video is picked out to be on TIFF (the international film festival in tromsø, norway)! the whole crew is these amazing people:

Hanne back from USA

Just came back (or at least just got the time to write about it..) from a very nice US tour. Ivar Grydeland (guitar), Martin Langlie(drums), Thomas Denstad(sound and tour managing) and me (guitar, bass, synth, vocal)  was doing the tour as a trio. It was awesome!! We were playing @ a lot of great venues (Empty Bottle in Chicago, Bell House and Mercury Lounge in NYC, Black cat in DC, Spaceland and HotelCafe in LA, Dough Fir in Portland). We also did a radio session @ Chris Douridas’ show @ KCRW in LA.

Wrote a piece for Norwegian Contemporary music festival (ULTIMA)

The 9.th of September was my piece for cello, vocal and bass clarinet, “l’Estrema Thule” (Norwegian lyrics) performed @ Stratos in Oslo. This was the opening of the Norwegian conteporary music festival, ULITMA, and performed by BOA (Tora Augestad, Rolf Borch and Tanja Orning). They also performed pieces of Jenny Hval, Morten Quenild, Susanne Sundfør and  Ole Henrik Moe. It’s not often i compose written music, this was fun- and i heard the opening was great as well! I was so sad i couldn’t be there, but i hope i soon get a recording so i can share. Until then, here’s a link to the festival program:
